Northern Ireland BBC journalist Stephen Nolan investigated the relationship between the BBC and the Stonewall Diversity Champions Scheme. Nolan found that the BBC paid a lobby group to lobby itself.

It’s interesting that, once Nolan exposed Stonewall, the tide started to turn. Most notably, one or two Labour ministers were able at last to answer rationally when asked “what is a woman?”. That’s what needs to happen in Australia, and urgently. Although (of course!) the UK government is unlikely to ever admit they were in bed with lobby groups / didn’t do their homework properly, lots of them have left Diversity Champions/ Stonewall like rats leaving a sinking ship.
